خود پر وار کے پھینکے ہیں میں نے ایسے ویسے بہت
میرا غرور سلامت رہے تیرے جیسے بہت
Roman Urdu:
Khud pe waar ke phenkay hain maine aise vaise bohat
Mera ghuroor salaamat rahe tere jaise bohat
Hindi:
खुद पे वार के फेंके हैं मैंने ऐसे वैसे बहुत
मेरा ग़ुरूर सलामत रहे तेरे जैसे बहुत
English Translation:
I’ve endured countless strikes upon myself
May my pride stay unshaken—there are many like you
Urdu:
ہمارے جیسے شوق نہ پالو، صاحب
ہماری ادائیں، ہم پر ہی جچتی ہیں
Roman Urdu:
Hamare jaise shoq na palo, sahib
Hamari adaaen, hum par hi jachti hain
Hindi:
हमारे जैसे शौक न पालो, साहिब
हमारी अदाएँ, हम पर ही जचती हैं
English Translation:
Don’t nurture passions like ours, dear sir
Our charms look graceful only on us
Urdu:
ہم وہ انا پرست ہیں مرشد، جو ہار کر بھی کہتے ہیں
وہ منزل ہی بدنصیب تھی جو ہم کو پا نہ سکی
Roman Urdu:
Hum woh ana parast hain, murshid, jo haar kar bhi kehte hain
Woh manzil hi badnaseeb thi jo hum ko pa na saki
Hindi:
हम वह आना परस्त हैं मुर्शिद, जो हार कर भी कहते हैं
वह मंज़िल ही बदनसीब थी जो हम को पा ना सकी
English Translation:
We are those egoists, O guide, who even in defeat, declare:

میری آواز میں ایک درد ہے، سناؤں کیا
کہ بند ایک راز ہوں، کھل جاؤں کیا
اور وہ جو گر گئی زمین پہ، تھی اوقات تیری
اگر تم بھول گئے ہو، تو یاد دلاؤں کیا

Meri awaaz mein ek dard hai, sunaun kya
Ke band ek raaz hoon, khul jaun kya
Aur woh jo gir gayi zameen pe, thi auqaat teri
Agar tum bhool gaye ho, to yaad dilaaun kya
Hindi:
मेरी आवाज़ में एक दर्द है, सुनाऊँ क्या
कि बंद एक राज़ हूँ, खुल जाऊँ क्या
और जो ज़मीन पर गिर गई, वो तेरी औक़ात थी
अगर तुम भूल गए हो, तो याद दिलाऊँ क्या
English Translation:
In my voice, there lies a pain—should I let it be heard?
I am a sealed secret—should I now unfold my word?
And the one that fell to the ground was your true worth

ایک عرصے کے بعد آج تیری یاد آئی ہے
کچھ حسین لمحے، اور بیشمار عذاب لائی ہے
سُکھی ہوئی زمین پہ پھر برسات آئی ہے
تپتی ریت کے موسم میں، بہار آئی ہے
اور آیا ہے خوشیوں کا ایک دریا میرے حصے میں
مگر اُداسی ہی مجھے، بس راس آئی ہے
Roman Urdu:
Ek arsé ke baad aaj teri yaad aayi hai
Kuch haseen lamhe, aur beshumar azaab laayi hai
Sukhi hui zameen pe phir barsaat aayi hai
Tapti reet ke mausam mein, bahaar aayi hai
Aur aaya hai khushiyon ka ek dariya mere hisse mein
Magar udaasi hi mujhe, bas raas aayi hai
Hindi:
एक अर्से के बाद आज तेरी याद आई है
कुछ हसीन लम्हे, और बेशुमार अज़ाब लाई है
सूखी हुई ज़मीन पे फिर बरसात आई है
तपती रेत के मौसम में, बहार आई है
और आया है खुशियों का एक दरिया मेरे हिस्से में
मगर उदासी ही मुझे, बस रास आई है

After a long time, today your memory returned to me
Bringing some lovely moments—and countless agonies
The dry earth has welcomed the rain once more
In the burning sands, spring begins to pour
A river of joy now flows my way, full and free
But sadness alone has truly suited me

دیکھ ہم کو کہانیاں نہ سنا
ہم اسی شہر میں بڑے ہوئے ہیں
خود کو برباد کر لیا ہم نے
اپنی ضد پر مگر اڑے ہوئے ہیں
کوئی تو ہم کو تھامنے آئے
کوئی دیکھے کہ ہم کھڑے ہوئے ہیں

Dekh hum ko kahaniyan na suna
Hum issi sheher mein baray huay hain
Khud ko barbaad kar liya humne
Apni zidd par magar uray huay hain
Koi to hum ko thaamne aaye
Koi dekhe ke hum kharay huay hain

देख हम को कहानियां ना सुना
हम इसी शहर में बड़े हुए हैं
ख़ुद को बर्बाद कर लिया हमने
अपनी ज़िद पर मगर अड़े हुए हैं
कोई तो हम को थामने आए
कोई देखे कि हम खड़े हुए हैं

Look, don’t tell us tales
We’ve grown up in this very city
We’ve destroyed ourselves

اور بتا دو اُنکو کہ دھواں نہیں ہوں چار دن کا میں
یہ وہ آگ ہے جو اب کسی سے بجھنے والی نہیں
Roman Urdu:
Aur bata do unko ke dhuan nahi hoon chaar din ka main
Yeh woh aag hai jo ab kisi se bujhnay wali nahi
Hindi:
और बता दो उनको के धुआं नहीं हूँ चार दिन का मैं
यह वह आग है जो अब किसी से बुझने वाली नहीं
